This is a question I’ve been asking myself for the longest time.
What if I would use this space to not only share recipes and food inspirations. But to share more about my life, my way of living, my experiences, my goals and my dreams?
For the longest time I’ve been thinking about this question, this idea. But truth is, I will never find out if I never DO it. So here I am! Writing my first post in this brand new blog category: Thinking out loud
What to expect
Well, honestly, I’m not a 100% certain. What I do know though is that I want to use this space to share more about my philosophy of living a good life. Over the past years I’ve made quite a shift. I’ve shifted from the corporate world to a more self-determined, independent way of living. I’ve made changes to my work as well as to my private life in order to create a more mindful and sustainable life. A life that makes me truly happy. Now I want to share what I’ve learned with you. I want to use this space to show you and the rest of the world that there are alternatives. That we don’t need to keep going down the same-old road of earning and spending, of hustle and bustle. Being stressed, worn-down and burnt-out. Our lives are precious! Your life is precious. Let’s start being more mindful about this.
Living a mindful life
Mindfulness and mindfulness practices have been flooding our society over the last years. From yoga practice to meditation, from mindful coloring books to knitting classes, mindfulness seems to be the key to happiness. When I first started my journey on the search for a happier and more fulfilled life I thought implementing yoga into my schedule and self-reflection would do the trick. But over the last years I’ve learned that there is a lot more to be done if I want to life a truly happy life. With the help of programs like Mindful In May or The Slow Home Podcast I’ve grown in ways that I didn’t expect. But mindfulness to me is not a practice that you schedule into your calender. While this might be a useful first step, living a mindful life is about everyday choices and your priorities in life as much as it is about rituals and focused mindfulness activities.
